Classic Leather Motorcycle Jackets
WHAT CAN BE MADE FROM AN OLD LEATHER JACKET
Surely many people have an old leather jacket in their
closet that just hangs and gathers dust. Let's not throw it away, but make the
necessary things that can continue the life of your favorite jacket.
NEW CLOTHES
It's no secret that you can make clothes from an old leather
jacket, for example, a jacket, vest, skirt, dress, or update your child's
wardrobe. But let's not dwell on this. In this article we will look at the most
interesting and unusual ideas.
We take two halves of the front part and cut out any shape,
it can be a circle, a square or even a triangle. We sew along the contour
everything except the top. Sew a zipper on top. We sew pockets inside for
different little things. We make handles from a collar, and of any length.
Cut off the upper shoulder-length from the jacket. We divide
each sleeve with scissors into three strips. We cut to the end. We bend one
strip forward and fold the second one on the other side in the same way, then
weave it together, but not strongly and sew it over the top. The ends will go
down. Do this with each strip.
Cut the bottom of the jacket to size and simply stitch it
from the seamy side several times, for density and strength. You can put a lace
or a narrow strip on top. We tighten the lace; all the top is ready. Regarding
the straps: Sew the twisted strips to different sides. The straps are ready.
Take any part from the jacket and cut out two rectangles.
Then sew together, leaving the top for the zipper. Make a small strap from the
sleeve, this is for comfortable wearing on your hand.
We put the blanks on the prepared leather pieces and simply
cut them according to the templates of both hands. We sew with a sewing
machine. Sew in a thin elastic to secure the wrists together. A choice of your
choice.
Cut out according to the template on a pre-prepared leather
jacket. You can simply circle the soap around the gadget. Then we sew.
Use a collar. You can come up with any figures from leather
and connect them with old ears of earrings. Turn on your imagination.
Cut out a wide strip and cut it into 6 pieces. We braid
braids from the middle of the strip on the sides on both sides. We connect with
a simple dressing. The bracelet is ready. You can use any ring and just trim it with leather.
We make a thin tourniquet of leather and put the triangles
sewn together. It turns out an unusual necklace. Attach hooks to the ends of
the tourniquet.
Cut out two squares from the back to size and sew three
sides. And through the last one we fill the pillow with any soft shreds,
tights, and whatever. And from the front parts we sew simple pillowcases with a
bottom margin.
From the pieces, you can come up with a beautiful picture.
For example, draw first and then fill with leather parts. Can be glued or sewn
on by hand.
Take the back from the jacket and cut out a rectangle. And
let the top of the front cover the rectangle, only 2 times. We join with seams
on the sides and sew with stitches along the entire length.
You should get pockets. Then we stitch it once along a
horizontal line so that the objects do not fall through. Sew laces on the
sides, twist the holster and tie it to the bow.
The back of the jacket will be used as a base. The front end
is on the top of the apron. We sew the parts together. Sew the clamp upwards,
which we make in advance.
Sew strings on the sides of the waist. For convenience, you
can sew on a large pocket. A leather apron will last for a long time; it is
simply irreplaceable when cutting meat products. Yes, and it washes quickly,
and most importantly, it protects things from accidental kitchen splashes when
cooking
There are two ways to convert a leather jacket into a vest.
The first is to modify the original product: cut the length, remove the
sleeves, add/remove the hood and belt. The second way is to use the old
jacket only as a material and cut the vest from scratch. Altering a leather
product into a vest follows the same scheme as a similar alteration of a
sheepskin coat. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to do this here.
Leather bags will never go out of style. Here is a very
simple instruction, following which, you will get a stylish novelty from a
completely non-stylish leather jacket:
Cut a rectangle (or two squares) out of the leather to the
size you want. These will be the walls of your bag. Sew them together on three
sides, or sew them by hand with a furrier stitch. Turn it out
Purchase from the hardware department a piece of chrome
chain that is long enough to make a comfortable handle

Modern fashion is paradoxical. For example, a leather jacket
that looks old and worn costs a lot more than a new and shiny one! Fashionable
leather jackets look as if they were worn for 50 years under the bright sun and
torrential rains, and during this time they were repeatedly driven on the
asphalt and on the sand. A worn old leather jacket does have a certain charm,
transforming from a mass-produced product to a personalized item. But to
achieve this effect, you don't have to buy a factory-aged jacket or wear a
leather jacket for years. You can just use the means at hand.
1. The first stage in aging of most leather jackets is
exposure to water. It is necessary to moisten the skin surface abundantly with
water from a spray bottle. Of course, the jacket can simply be lowered into the
water, but then there is a great risk of damaging the lining. Then let it dry
in the sun and repeat this procedure at least five times. The skin should
become tighter and drier.
3. Using a spray bottle, moisten your skin with rubbing
alcohol. In principle, the aging process can be started from this stage,
bypassing the previous two, but then the result will be of lower quality.
4. Remember the jacket well with your hands. This will add
new folds and lines to the skin. Do not be careful, wrinkle the jacket with all
you might, as if kneading dough.
The aging process has begun and the leather jacket is
prepared for serious exposure.
5. Take sandpaper. Depending on the extent to which you plan
to age your skin, you can use fine or medium grains. Gently scrub the leather
jacket where you wish to age it. Most often, the jacket is wiped on the elbows,
the folds of the arms and in some places on the back. So the wear in these
places will look natural. Wipe some areas harder than others and leave others
untouched.
Work slowly and thoughtfully. You can always enhance the
wear, but you definitely won't be able to restore the original look. Remember
that after the alcohol evaporates, the skin will look lighter.
6. Coarser scratches can be added with a wire brush. Again,
remember that the workflow cannot be reversed, so don't overdo it.
7. After completing the work, you will need the sprayer
again. Thoroughly rinse off alcohol, paint and leather particles with water.
Wipe down the jacket with a clean rag.
8. Condition the skin by lubricating its surface with olive
oil and let it fully absorb in the sun. That's all!
The aging of a leather jacket is a creative process. A
canvas on which you can depict anything you want, create your own unique technique.
Some of them deliberately scratch their jackets on the branches of trees, roll
them in the dust, drag them with force on the asphalt ... And all just so that
the jacket reflects their individuality.
Each person has things in the house that he has not used for
a long time or that have become unusable in terms of condition and quality. In
most cases, the solution to the problem with a large amount of accumulated
items is recycling. We, without hesitation, threw them away. But do not rush,
take a closer look at them, perhaps among this heap you will be able to find
good quality products that can be reused and give them a second life.
Often, among the old trash, there are technical devices,
elements of clothing ... All this lies in order to be used if necessary. If
you're lucky, you can even find rare specimens.
THE SECOND LIFE OF A LEATHER JACKET
You can make many new and interesting blanks and full-fledged things from leather products: gloves, trimmings for clothes, hats ... In our article we will tell you about the way to create a leather bag from an old jacket. If you are lucky enough to find a jacket made of real leather among the abandoned products, then the main material is already ready.
You don't need a lot of leather to make a bag. Before starting work, carefully prepare the jacket, wash it from the accumulated dirt and select a good solid area without defects and mechanical damage
Lamb or sheep leather is the "golden mean" both in
quality and in price. The quality of this leather is higher than that of a pig,
and the price is lower than that of a bull. Designers and manufacturers are fonder
of jackets made of sheepskin. Since the leather itself is soft, it allows you
to sew jackets with a complex cut. A sheep jacket will keep you warm. Most
people choose jackets from this particular leather.
Jackets are also made from goatskin. This jacket will also
be warm, soft, and highly waterproof.
Rarely, but still found, jackets made of horse leather. Its
price is very high, so the cost of the product is significantly different from
all the others. Horse leather jackets are the most durable, warmest, strongest, and most expensive jackets. The leather is very durable and very thick.
Well, the last types of leather include snakeskin, deer,
crocodile, bison, and stingray leather. They are rarely used for sewing jackets,
but if you want to spend a tidy sum, then you can find yourself a jacket made
of these types of leather. Typically, these leathers are used for finishing.

Does your leather jacket look worn and worn? If you wear any
type of jacket or coat long enough, it will show signs of wear over time, and
leather jackets are no exception. With that said, you can revive an old and
worn leather jacket in a few simple steps.
CLEAR
You can't expect an old leather jacket to come back to life
without cleaning it. Over time, dirt, dust and debris build up on leather
jackets and, if left unchecked, will degrade their appearance. Typically, an
old leather jacket can be cleaned by wiping down with a damp cloth and mild
dish soap, and there are leather soaps and detergents designed specifically for
leather goods.
CHECK FOR DAMAGE
In addition to cleaning, you also need to inspect the
leather jacket for damage. High quality leather jackets - made of genuine
leather - are naturally protected from damage. With that said, they can still
get damaged by physical stress. Therefore, you should take a few minutes to
inspect your leather jacket for damage, check the seams for signs of frayed
seams or other damage. If you find any damage it needs to be repaired.
Otherwise, it can spread, causing additional damage in the process.
STORE ON A CLOTHES HANGER
If you haven't already, you should get in the habit of
storing your leather jacket on a clothes hanger. Throwing your leather jacket
on the floor, in your bed, or elsewhere in the house may seem harmless, but it
can leave your jacket prone to warping. The leather will lose its original
shape if not stored on a hanger. Fortunately, you can maintain or even restore
your leather jacket to its original shape by placing it on a sturdy clothes
hanger, preferably wood rather than plastic.
KEEP DRY
To rejuvenate the look of your old Mens Biker Brown Leather Jacket, you need
to keep it dry. Natural leather is like a sponge. When wet, the skin absorbs
and retains water. This is usually not a problem, but if the skin is damp for a
long time, it can develop mold. You can protect your leather jacket from mildew
and other water-related damage by keeping it dry. If you wear your leather
jacket outside on a rainy day, dry it off with a towel. Keeping your leather
jacket dry will create a cleaner, more pristine style.
If your leather jacket has loose or missing buttons, they
should be replaced. To replace the buttons on a leather jacket, you only need a
few basic items, including thread, a needle, and replacement buttons. It is
recommended that you select replacement buttons with the same color, shape, and
style as the old buttons. This way you can restore your leather jacket to its
original appearance.
If you are uncomfortable changing the buttons yourself, you
can take the leather jacket to a local tailor. The tailor will most likely ask
you to replace a button (or several buttons) on your leather jacket, but this
is a small price to pay considering the usefulness and value offered by a
genuine leather jacket.
STATE
Perhaps the most important step in restoring an old Classic Leather Motorcycle Jackets is conditioning it. We've talked about this before on our blog on the
Leather Cult website, but if you missed it, conditioning refers to using a
moisturizing product to keep leather goods from drying out. If too much
moisture can damage your skin, then too little moisture can.
