Biker Jacket For Real Men
Much more than a leather jacket, the biker jacket is a cult
item of clothing of choice for many idols - from Marlon Brando and Elvis
Presley to Arnold Schwarzenegger and the punks of the Sex Pistols.
The biker jacket is a short leather jacket with a tapered
waist and an oblique zipper. The oblique position of the zipper made the jacket
look like military uniforms from the American Civil War.
The military uniform of the times of the War between the
North and the South had the same design known today - the fastener on the
uniform went from the left hip to the right shoulder. Half a century later, the
uniform was shortened to a jacket.
Jacket history
The appearance of the leather biker jacket in the form in
which it is known to all we owe to Irwin Shot. In 1928, it was Irwin Shot, one
of the founding brothers of Schott, who made the first motorcycle jacket with a
slanting collar. The brothers were the first to install a zipper on a leather
jacket. The biker jacket is the Russian-language name for the world-famous
jacket; in the original, this model was named perfecto after the brand of Irwin
Shota's favorite cigars.
Schott clothes were actively used (and are still used) for
their needs by aviation, the Navy, the police, and, of course, all kinds of
informal trends.
The biker jacket is distinguished from ordinary leather
jackets by particularly durable and thick leather with a lining, a narrowed
waist often with a belt, adjustable dimensions, a leather fold on the back (for
freedom of movement) and elongated sleeves (for full coverage of even
outstretched arms) with zippers near the wrists - for this so that over the
sleeves it was possible to wear leather gloves with long sockets (gaiters). In
addition, the leather jacket differs from other styles of jackets by the
characteristic asymmetrical placement of the zipper - on the chest the jacket
had a large overlap of skin in order to cover the chest and neck from the wind.

But it was not only the practical qualities of the leather
jacket that brought her such popularity.
After World War II, a huge number of former pilots returned
home. And of course, putting on a leather jacket and changing the cockpit to a fashionable already at that time, Harley Davidson joined the ranks
of American bikers.
Those who have not been to the war, were imbued with the
fighting spirit and history of the jacket, its special cut, and style, plus the
association with the appearance of a courageous warrior-veteran - all this, in
addition to its comfort and wind proofness, made the "leather jacket"
not just a leather jacket, but a symbol of bikers around the world.

Marlon Brando added a sharp jump in the popularity of the
leather biker jacket, playing in this jacket a rebel-bully in the film
"The Savage" (1953). The film significantly influenced the
development of the biker subculture, and the image of a bully on a motorcycle,
dressed in a leather jacket, has become a symbol of several generations of
youth.
Later, a guy from Memphis named Elvis Presley made the biker
jacket an iconic, fashionable outfit. Thanks to the Great Elvis, she became
almost a stage costume, a kind of bright exotic plumage, she almost lost her
masculine component, her innate brutality.
But the years passed and in the 70s the leather jacket, as a symbol of freedom, as a symbol of a short but bright life, became an integral part of rock culture. Punks, metalheads, rockers of all genres have chosen a short Leather Biker Jacket Uk with a slanting zipper. She has become one of the main items of informal clothing.
